‘X Factor': Lauren Platt ‘Could Miss Saturday's Live Show' Due To Illness

Lauren 'Could Miss This Weekend's 'X Factor' Due To Illness

The ‘X Factor’ could be a singer down on Saturday, as Lauren Platt is suffering from the flu and may not be able to perform, according to reports.

The young singer has impressed fans so far this series, and is Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s only remaining act, however, The Sun reports that Lauren has been struck down by a seriously bad case of flu, sending filming schedules into chaos.

“She was determined to come back in the following day and rehearse but she is now both behind in practice, and under the weather.”

“It has been very stressful for her, and we are all conscious of that.”

While the young singer’s illness has reportedly played havoc with rehearsals, she’s reportedly remaining insistent on performing this week.

“For Lauren to not be able to perform would be devastating - it is the last thing that anyone wants.

“But she is also worried that being ill will affect her performance if she goes on. The odds are really against her this week.”

Lauren hasn’t made any comments on whether she will have to miss the show, though she has retweeted a message of support sent by a fan.

This weekend’s shows will be the first time that this year’s hopefuls are performing two tracks each. Each act will perform one song, which has been voted for by fans, and another chosen by their mentors.

The songs, voted for by viewers, are:

  • Ben Haenow - ‘Thinking Out Loud’ (Originally by Ed Sheeran)
  • Andrea Faustini - ‘Hero’ (Mariah Carey)
  • Fleur East - ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ (Alicia Keys)
  • Lauren Platt - ‘Don’t You Worry Child (Swedish House Mafia)
  • Stereo Kicks - ‘Run’ (Snow Patrol)
