Lauren Platt has narrowly missed out on a place in the ‘X Factor’ final, exiting the show on Sunday night after a sing-off against Andrea Faustini.
MORE 'X FACTOR':
Simon Cowell’s acts Ben Haenow and Fleur East sailed into the final, which takes place on Saturday 13 December, leaving Lauren and Andrea’s fate in the hands of the judges.
Lauren has left the competition
For the sing-off, Lauren performed Faith Hill’s ‘There You’ll Be’ while Andrea opted to sing ‘Who You Are’, originally by Jessie J.
As expected, Mel B and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini each chose to save their own acts, and Louis Walsh then decided to send Lauren home, a decision Simon agreed with.
After hearing the news, Lauren remained calm, praising her mentor Cheryl.
“I want to say thank you to the most incredible woman I've ever met in my life for sticking with me and giving me this opportunity,” she said.
The final three
In a new twist, each finalist has a ‘Battle Bus’ and they’ll be travelling around the UK to drum up support - and votes - ahead of Saturday’s grand finale.
Following the weekend's shows, Fleur is currently the favourite to win the competition.
