'The Apprentice' Fired Candidate Sanjay Sood-Smith Resigned On First Day Back In Real World Of Banking

The Apprentice Fired Candidate 'Resigned On First Day Back At Work'

This week’s fired Apprentice candidate has revealed that his stint on the reality TV show was truly life-changing.

Following his expulsion from the contest in Week 10, Sanjay Sood-Smith returned to his job in banking… and lasted one whole day before resigning.

“What I’ve always wanted to do is run my own restaurant,” he tells HuffPostUK.

“That first day back, I was on a tele-conference about credit cards, and I thought ‘Screw this’ and I resigned that day.

"Screw this," said Sanjay on his first day back in the "real world" of banking after returning from The Apprentice

“My friend Scott had started a new restaurant, so I got some experience working with him. And now I’m back in London, and working on my own plans for Indian street food.”

And after all his years in the corporate world, Sanjay is planning to put his new public platform to a good cause as well…

“When I was in the Apprentice house, everyone was talking about their families, and I was asked, ‘Do you have a wife or girlfriend?’

“My answer was no, I have a boyfriend,’ and it’s not necessarily something everyone’s comfortable with,” he reveals.

“So I’m hoping to work with Stonewall. My wish is to go into schools, and give talks about gay role models. It’s still difficult to come out in the corporate world, and it needn’t be.

“So if my experiences can be a help, then this is a great time for me to contribute.”
