Luckily for those of us residing in the UK who happen to love the explosive flavours and healthiness of delicious Asian food, there are plenty of places to sample authentic Asian dishes across the country - at any price point.
In the past few years there have also been an increasing number of restaurants and street food stalls opening which focus on introducing the UK public to new tastes and ingredients, specialising in meals that are staples of more regional cuisines rather than distinctly less exciting Anglo-Asian fare.
One example is Chilli Daddy, the Bristol-based food stall run by Dr. Weng since 2011, which brings the authentic flavours of Szechuan cooking (noodles, hotpots, beansprout salads, spare ribs and lots of spice) to its Perry Street outpost and the Wine Street Food Market every Friday.
With every dish £5 and under, using recipes passed down from Dr. Weng's grandmother (she taught his mother, who then taught him to cook back in China in the 1980s and 1990s), Chilli Daddy combines tradition with the contemporary need for tasty, affordable food on the go.
