Kanye co-produced the track ‘Illuminati’ on her latest album ‘Rebel Heart’, and after seeing how Yeezus works firsthand, she’s clearly noticed a lot of similarities between them, claiming they’re both experts in challenging the norm and making people think with their music.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Madonna claims: “We know, and recognize, that we have that in common. We're comrades in the envelope-pushing genre.
“Kanye is the new Madonna. Kanye is the black Madonna.”
Kanye West and Madonna
Whether or not this means we can expect to see Kanye throwing on a pink leotard or a conical bra for his latest fashion risk remains to be seen.
Madonna had previously sung Kanye’s praises after being in the studio with him, telling Rolling Stone: “I feel like the music business needs him, because everyone's become so politically correct, so safe.
“I don't always agree with the things he says or does - I don't always like his music, even. But he's a beautiful mess. I love him.”
As well as his work on ‘Illuminati’, Kanye contributed a rap to the song ‘Beat Goes On’ on Madonna’s album ‘Hard Candy’, and appeared in a video backdrop on her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ world tour.
You can hear Madonna and Kanye’s collaboration on her new album ‘Rebel Heart’, which is out now.
