The impending fifth series of the Emmy award-winning fantasy show is due to air in America on 12 April, and a day later here in the UK, but if you don’t think you can hang on until next month, there’s now a two-minute trailer that should whet your appetite.

The trailer was unveiled during Apple’s ‘Spring Forward’ event, and if anyone was fearful that the show’s ever-increasing popularity might lead them to tone down some of the graphic content, you’ll be pleased to hear it takes just 15 seconds before we see someone getting speared in a battle.

Lovely.

Most of the show’s leading cast members are back for the new trailer, including Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, who also provides a dramatic voiceover.

However, there are a few notable absentees, most notably Kristian Nairn and Isaac Hempstead-Wright (better known to ‘Game Of Thrones’ viewers as Hodor and Bran), who it was reported last year will not be appearing in the new series.

Don’t worry, though, as their characters will be back for series six.
