Bonnie Langford is the latest star name to be set to make her debut in 'EastEnders'.
The seasoned child star turned all-round entertainer has been confirmed to follow in the footsteps of other stars Sheila Hancock, Danny Dyer and David Essex onto Albert Square.
Bonnie will be playing Kush's mother Carmel Kazemi - a lady who "loves her children but has a tendency to embarrass them" according to the show's press notes.

Talking of Bonnie’s arrival, Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Executive Producer said: “Bonnie Langford is a British institution – and an old-school hard-graft actress gifted at both comedy and serious drama. Bonnie brings wit, pathos and a touch of class to Carmel Kazemi – a thoroughly modern Essex divorcée who isn’t quite ready to cut the apron strings firmly attached to her son Kush. Even if it means clashing spectacularly with an already prickly Shabnam…”
Bonnie is previously celebrated for her role of Doctor Who's companion Mel Bush, and stage roles in 'Chicago' and 'Cats'. She says today, “I’m so thrilled and delighted to be part of EastEnders. I’m a great fan of the show and think the recent 30th Anniversary was sensational and shows just how good British television can be. To be part of this family is an absolute privilege.”
Denise Van Outen and June Whitfield are also penned in to join the cast, still reeling from the repercussions of Lucy Beale's murder and Alfie's misjudged attempt at arson.
