Kym, who plays Michelle Connor, will now be on our screens until at least June next year.
The move is in a bid to keep the soap’s biggest names from leaving after several high profile ‘Corrie’ stars quit the show just days apart.

Earlier this week, Craig Charles, who's played Cobbies cabbie Lloyd Mullaney for the last ten years, confirmed he'll be leaving the soap in September, in order to reprise his role of Lister in 'Red Dwarf', which is set to return to channel Dave.
That announcement came just a day after Alison King revealed she would be leaving the show at the end of the year.
Alison has played factory boss Carla Connor for nine years, but wishes to pursue other projects for the next year. Show bosses have indicated they would be willing to write her out for the next 12 months at least, with her return left up in the air for now.

Bosses have also locked in Brooke Vincent to the soap.
Brooke, who has played Sophie Webster since 2004, will stay on despite seeing her best friend Michelle Keegan leave.
A show source told The Mirror: “Brooke loves it on the soap and is very happy.
"Before signing on for another year she met with bosses and her character has some great storylines coming up.”
