‘Coronation Street’ star Kym Marsh has reportedly called off her engagement to personal trainer Dan Hooper.
According to reports, the couple have decided to take a break after a whirlwind eight-month romance.
Kym Marsh and Dan Hooper were set to wed next year
Dan, 32, has already moved out of the family home he shared with the mum-of-three in Manchester.
The 38-year-old actress, who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV soap, was due to attend Sunday evening’s TV Baftas, but pulled out at the last minute saying she was unwell.
A source told the Mirror: “Kym and Dan have mutually decided to have a break.
“Their relationship has moved very quickly and both of them have very busy work lives which has unfortunately put pressure on them both.
“They are both very much hoping to work through what is a very difficult time for them and get their relationship back on track as soon as possible.
“It’s a real shame because everyone who’s met Dan thinks he’s a fantastic bloke and has had a really positive impact on Kym’s life.
“Dan’s family and friends love Kym to bits so they’re all just keeping their fingers crossed that they sort things out sooner rather than later. It’s very much a temporary break, they’ve not split.”
Following the news of their split, Dan took to Twitter to confirm the couple are 'having a break'.
"Nothing's broken off. We are having space and a break... Please leave us alone with the horrible comments," he wrote.
Despite problems in her personal life, Kym’s career is going from strength to strength.
Last week it was revealed that the star had signed a reported six-figure deal to stay on ‘Corrie’.
The deal means Kym will be on our screens until at least June next year.
The move is in a bid to keep the soap’s biggest names from leaving after several high profile stars quit the show just days apart.
