Fifa World Cup Sponsors Hijacked With 'Anti-Logos' Amid Reports Of Qatar Human Rights Violations

Fifa Sponsors Are Getting Their Logos Hijacked

The logos of Fifa World Cup sponsors Visa, Coca-Cola, adidas and McDonald's have been hijacked by online artists protesting against the football body's alleged abuse of migrant workers building stadiums for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

At least 1,200 migrant workers have already died building the infrastructure for the tournament, due to unsafe working conditions and extreme heat, a report by the International Trade Union Confederation claims - and it expects 4,000 more worker deaths by 2022.

Fifa is now facing the collapse of its lucrative sponsorship deals, after senior officials were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of "rampant" corruption and a criminal investigation was launched into whether foul play was involved in choosing the location of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Visa threatened to break off its contract, while Coca-Cola said the news had "tarnished" Fifa's reputation.

To draw attention to the human rights issues reported in Qatar, posts on the blog Bored Panda have subverted the well-known logos of Fifa's global sponsors, placing pressure on them to break ties with the crisis-hit football body.
