New Doom Gameplay Trailer Is A Blood-Soaked Homecoming For The Classic FPS

This Could Be The Most Violent Video Game Ever Made

Bethesda kicked off what would be a massive E3 2015 conference with the very first gameplay trailer for Doom. The verdict?

It is violent. Seriously violent.

The developer has taken the game back to its most primeval roots opting for the fast, aggressive and deeply gory gameplay style that made the game an icon back in 1993.

Unveiled at a packed conference in Los Angeles, Bethesda showcased a spectacularly gory piece of gameplay demoing the return of iconic weapons such as the double-barrelled shotgun and the chainsaw.

Within seconds of the trailer being shown Twitter became amass with complaints that the game was too violent.

Of course as with most things there's always another side with advocates of the game defending the violence as being nothing more than 'fantasy'.

Doom is widely considered as the 'father' of modern video games leading to the creation of multi-billion dollar franchises like Call of Duty, Halo and Destiny.

Built using Bethesda's new id Tech 6 engine the game boasts hyper-realistic detailing as well as 60fps gameplay on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

It'll launch Spring 2016.
