Helen Wood goaded Brian Belo during the row
The media regulator has now received over 1,000 complaints about Helen’s hurtful comments, and the show could face an investigation into the matter.
A spokesperson said: "Ofcom has received 1,100 complaints about Big Brother on Channel 5 on June 24th. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not."
Helen’s behaviour in the previous series of ‘Big Brother’ - which she astonishingly won - also attracted 3,784 complaints.
Brian left the house after the shocking row
Despite facing calls to pull her from the show altogether, producers have only issued her with a formal warning for her comments.
Brian has since claimed that she is being given preferential treatment by Channel 5, telling The Mirror: "In my year someone called someone another word and they got called to the Diary Room and someone else got kicked out straight away for saying horrible comments to someone."
When HuffPost UK put Brian’s claims to a ‘Big Brother’ spokesperson, they said: “Big Brother takes rule breaking very seriously. Helen and Marc were both warned regarding their behaviour and as with all Housemates they continue to be closely monitored at all times.”
