#TheDress almost tore our nation apart. Was it blue? Was it black? Friends, families and work colleagues bickered in one of the greatest style debates of our lifetime.

Well, brace yourself because this picture of #TheShoe may well have the same effect...

Massachusetts Twitter user @totallymendes posted the above photo asking which nail polish, one pink and one purple, matched a shoe of ambiguous colour.

There have been some pretty intense debates over whether the right or left colour complements the heel.

Some users took to Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop to match the correct colour (which is apparently the left polish) but, like with every other internet frenzy, no one wants to listen to logic.

So which one is it? The war wages on...
