Baking a delicious loaf of banana bread usually means waiting several days for your bananas to go ripe.
But this cooking hack by Little Things will ripen your fruit within the hour.
All you need is greaseproof paper, a baking tray and your unripe bananas.
1. Lay your bananas on a baking tray with greaseproof paper underneath.
Pre-heat the oven to 150 degrees (gas mark two).
2. Put them in the pre-heated oven.
Why? The heat causes the sugar to release in the bananas to help them ripen quickly.
3. Keep them in for 40 minutes, or until the skin is shiny and black.
Once the skin is black, take them out and let them cool for around 30 minutes.
4. Cut off the banana from the bottom end with scissors.
Squeeze out the fruit like you would with a tube of toothpaste, and voilà.
