JK Rowling Says We've Been Pronouncing Voldemort's Name Wrong All The Time

Harry Potter supervillain Lord Voldemort has been terrifying fans for 18 years.

But JK Rowling has only now spoken up to inform us we’ve been pronouncing the name of, er, He Who Cannot Be Named wrong all of this time.

It's Lord Voldemort with a silent 't', if you please

The revelation came via Twitter after the author replied to Michael Lucero’s observation: “One piece of Harry Potter I always forget to mention: the ‘t’ is silent in Voldemort, according to JK Rowling.”

Rowling responded in agreement, though added she’s “pretty sure I’m the only person who pronounces it that way.”

How very French.
