‘EastEnders’ newcomer Riley Carter Millington has been spotted filming his first scenes, alongside Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater.
MORE 'EASTENDERS':
Riley will make TV history when he appears on our screens next month, as he’s the first ever transgender actor to play a transgender character in a regular soap role.
Lacey's still sporting her character's baby bump
The actor was seen shooting on location over the weekend, and behind-the-scenes snaps show Riley enjoying some time out with Lacey.
Bosses are yet to reveal how his character Kyle will be introduced in the soap, though it has been confirmed that he’ll appear briefly this month, before arriving in Walford for good towards the end of the year.
Riley and Lacey enjoy a break from filming
Riley landed the role after meeting ‘EastEnders’ bosses at workshops held for transgender actors, and the show’s executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins, then worked with the story team to develop a character.
Riley has shared his excitement at landing the role, stating: “I am extremely excited to be joining ‘EastEnders’. I can honestly say that I have now fulfilled my two biggest dreams – to be living my life as a man and to be an actor.
“I cannot wait to really get stuck in with filming and I look forward to seeing what is in store for my character.”
