Police were called to the Wheelhouse Club and Lounge, Bowness-on-Windermere after the 31-year-old was caught up in a heated row in the pub toilet.
A witness told the Sun: “He was there with four or five mates but it all kicked off in the loos.
“It took at least ten minutes to get him outside as he was kicking off. Suddenly about five or six police vans turned up. Cops round here don’t mess about when someone can’t handle their drink.
“Outside it kicked off again. He was put in the back of a van as his mates mouthed off at bouncers. It was a really big scene.”
The star was then taken to Kendal police station where he spent the night.
He was later fined £90 for being drunk and disorderly.
Cumbria Police confirmed they had arrested a man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
Ryan’s arrest comes just weeks after he announced he was quitting ‘Corrie’.
The actor, who has played builder Jason Grimshaw for the last 15 years, said it was time to ‘spread his wings and pursue new challenges’ with his sights set on Hollywood.
“It has been a great privilege to be in Coronation Street – the cast and crew are among the best in the business,” Ryan said. “To be a part of it for so long has been an amazing experience.
“The decision to leave was extremely difficult. I’m just excited now to see what exit storyline the writers give Jason.”
