Speaking to Hello magazine about ‘Strictly’, Jay said: "I have some basic advantages, because as a kid, I did some dancing.

"I'd do tap and ballet after school - really cool at that age - and then at 16, I did three years of musical theatre.

"But that was ten years ago and now I'm learning styles I've never done before. Believe me, without Aliona, it would be car-crash."

Jay and Aliona have been one of the couples who have impressed most on the current series of the BBC ballroom show, and scored an impressive 34 points on Saturday’s (31 October) Halloween special.

According to The Sun, Aliona “hit the roof” when she learnt of his texts to fellow pros Kristina Rihanoff and Ola Jordan, as well as contestant Georgia May Foote.

Despite this, Jay and Aliona are sit the current favourites to win the competition, with Boyle Sports listing him at 8/11, behind Peter Andre at 11/2.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Saturday on BBC One.
