‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant Helen George is in for a tough week, after falling ill, right when the competition is heating up.

The ‘Call The Midwife’ actress has so far managed to sail through the competition without landing herself in the bottom two, and has consistently been among the top-scorers each week, alongside her professional partner Aljaž Skorjanec.

However, the couple have reportedly hit a snag this week, with The Sun claiming that she’s been struck down by a bug - though it sounds as though she’s not going to take her illness lying down, despite it serving as a “real blow” for her.

“But it is obviously a concern when the competition is so high, and she wants to be able to give the best possible performance each week.”

She isn’t the only star to fall sick this series, though, with the source continuing: “She is not the first to get ill either, so there must be something nasty going around.”

Before the launch of this year’s ‘Strictly’, Helen was named by her fellow contestants as “one to watch”, alongside fellow competitor Peter Andre.

She’s since proved them right, and is currently at the top of the leaderboard, with 191 points, ahead of former The Wanted singer Jay McGuiness and ‘EastEnders’ actress Kellie Bright.

Find out whether Helen can pull it together, when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues this Saturday night, at 6.30pm on BBC One.
