The ‘Top Gear’ host took to Twitter after tuning in to Saturday night’s ‘X Factor’, and couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his rival.
“Haven’t seen X Factor forever,” Chris tweeted. “Have to say, after a brief glimpse, Grimmy looks like the new man in the know and Simon looks weird & nervous.”
Ouch.
Chris couldn’t hide his disappointment to have lost Grimmy to Simon back in June, when the DJ was signed up as Louis Walsh’s replacement on ‘The X Factor’, despite being hailed as ‘the future’ of ‘TFI Friday’.
Chris told The Sun at the time: “He’s exclusive with ITV, so it’s very disappointing. He will always be welcome on [TFI Friday] though.
“I will be presenting the next eight shows and I’m very excited.”

But Nick might be available quicker than Chris expected after the future of ‘The X Factor’ was thrown into doubt over the weekend.
It has now been confirmed that the forthcoming fifth series of ‘The Voice’ will be the last to air on the BBC, after being acquired by ITV.
The new deal said to be worth around £12 million a year, leaving a question mark over the future of ‘The X Factor’, particularly given its current contract also comes to an end in 2016.
