The presenter was on the receiving end of abuse from some Twitter users over her choice of outfit, with some even making comments about her weight.

Clearly upset by the remarks, Caroline took to the social networking site to defend herself after the show.

"It's very easy to take a shot at someone online. The vile comments about my weight and just all round look tonight are quite shocking," she tweeted.

"Have never said I'm the prettiest or thinnest or even anything special. But thank God I'm not horrible. Cool attitudes."

Caroline was supported by friend Myleene Klass, who tweeted: “f*#k em. You're gorge, smart, talented. Q.E.D.”

Earlier in the evening, she congratulated her co-host Olly Murs, after he performed his new single ‘Kiss Me’ on the ITV talent show.

“And well done @ollyofficial with ya sexy moves ... I felt like a proud wife in a non wife way x,” she said.

Olly also showered Caroline with kisses following his performance, as he bounced back from last weekend’s show, which was heavily criticised for a blunder he made while announcing which contestant was going home.
