Delivery Driver Hailed A 'Hero' For Saving Elderly Man's Life Who Had Collapsed At Home Alone

A delivery driver for a local pharmacy has been heralded a "hero" after saving an elderly man's life who had collapsed at home.

Colin, who works for Cottingham Pharmacy in Grimsby, found the man on the floor at his home when making his regular delivery round.

He quickly contacted the pharmacy, who alerted a GP and ambulance services, and Colin broke down the door to gain access to the house.

The poor man had been laying alone in his house for two whole days. He had no access to food or water and the heating was switched off.

Thanks to Colin, the elderly man is now said to be recovering in hospital.

The pharmacy posted the story to their Facebook page describing Colin as a "hero" and it has had more than 10,000 likes (and counting).

The post read: "Colin was making a regular weekly delivery to an elderly gentleman. After knocking at the door, he got no response.

"The elderly gentleman's TV was on and Colin was sure he was in the house. After checking through the windows, he could see the chap collapsed on the floor."

The post ended with good news: "Thankfully, he has survived and is now being treated in hospital. Colin, we salute you as a true hero."
