Supergurl Apologises For Telling Website Customers To 'Rape Us Now' On Black Friday

Clothing Store Apologises For Telling Customers To 'Rape Us Now'

Singapore-based online shop Supergurl has apologised after a huge backlash against its choice of website branding on Black Friday.

The fashion retailer changed its usual ‘Shop now’ button to a ‘Rape Us Now’ button, referring to the low prices being offered on the site, and featured a photo of a young woman with her eyes closed.

Shoppers who spotted the change were not happy, with many taking to social media to express their disgust at the wording chosen.

Supergurl’s creative director, Jordus Lim, has now issued an apology on their website, saying: "As the director of the company, I have failed to review my Graphic Designer’s work before approving the image to be displayed on our site.

"I hereby acknowledge that we have made a mistake, and that our caption does not advocate the right values to the young women community today.

"Having regretted for what we have done, the team at Supergurl will definitely be more careful with what we will put up in future as this is also a lesson learnt for us.

"We hope that the public will accept our apology for what we have done wrong."
