‘X Factor' Final: Simon Cowell ‘Planning A-List Tribute To One Direction' For Show Finale

Simon Has A Huge Surprise Planned For The 'X Factor' Final

Simon Cowell’s got big plans for the ‘X Factor’ final, according to reports, however they haven't got anything to do with this year’s contestants.

The music mogul is reportedly planning something special for One Direction, and arranging a star-studded tribute to the lads, before they (temporarily) bow out of the music business.

One Direction will return to the 'X Factor' stage this weekend

The foursome are set to perform at this weekend’s final at Wembley Arena, and Si is believed to be lining up a series of A-listers to wish them well in style.

According to The Sun, the likes of Mariah Carey, Will Ferrell and James Corden have recorded video messages for the lads, which will be played on the night.

“‘X Factor’ is where it all started for them in the first place so it’s the perfect place to do a proper farewell.

“He has managed to rope in some massive names using his connections. It’s a big surprise for the boys and it will make their night even more special.”

Preparation for the final is well under way, and Coldplay will also perform, along Leona Lewis, who it's suspected will be duetting with contestants.

Last year's winner, Ben Haenow, has also confirmed that he'll be taking to the stage over the weekend, teasing fans with the fact his performance will include "a lil surprise".

Reggie ’N’ Bollie have also hit headlines for the wrong reasons, thanks to their wives, who apparently had a bit of a barney on a tour bus this week.
