Facebook's New In-App Browser Could Rival Google

Facebook's Testing A New Feature That Could Mean You'll Never Google Anything Again

Facebook is testing a new in-app browser that could mean you'll never ever leave the social media platform. Ever.

Designed to act like Chrome or Internet Explorer (it's ok we won't judge you), the update which has only been rolled out to a few iOS users, will let you visit any url without leaving Facebook.

The Next Web (TNW) first spotted the feature in December and the privileged few who have had the pleasure of using it have since been tweeting about it:

In addition to being able to use the browser you could also use it to look up words you don't understand or do a fact check, according to The Next Web.

The feature also has a bottom bar, which ranks the page or article that you are looking at in terms of popularity, telling you how many people are talking about that subject in particular.

One of the main drawbacks TNW notes is that the feature doesn't allow you to tab - a necessity for those of us who like to multitask while online.

The Huffington Post UK is awaiting for comment from Facebook.
