Cilla Black’s great-nephew Tobias Robinson is set to appear on tonight’s (Saturday 6 February) episode of ‘The Voice UK’.
Tobias will be giving the blind auditions his best shot, and ahead of his star turn on the show, he’s revealed the career advice his famous great-aunt once gave him.
Will Tobias impress any of the coaches?
Speaking to The Sun, he explains: “I take inspiration from her.
“She went from working as a coat girl at Liverpool’s Cavern Club to being a singing star and an entertainment icon.
“I met her at my grandad’s funeral. Her brother was my mum’s dad. Cilla told me, ‘Don’t stop until you’ve got what you want.’
“With her saying, ‘you can do it’, I managed to quit my job and get to be a musician.
“It’s a lot of pressure to carry on the family tradition. Those are some big shoes to fill.”
Cilla died in August 2015
Tobias isn’t the only hopeful on this year’s series of ‘The Voice’ to have a showbiz connection and last month, viewers saw former Liberty X singer Kevin Simm take to the stage.
The 2016 series of ‘The Voice’ will be the last one to air on BBC1, as from 2016, the show will be calling ITV home.
