Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Supported Perrie Edwards After Zayn Malik Split: 'She's Been A Very Good Friend'

Perrie Edwards has revealed that Cheryl Fernandez-Versini helped her through her split from Zayn Malik.

The Little Mix singer admitted that she has grown close to her fellow Geordie star in recent times, and the ‘X Factor’ judge supported her after the former One Direction singer broke off their engagement last year.

Speaking to The Sun, Perrie praised Cheryl for being a good pal in her time of need.

“Cheryl is incredible. She has been a very good friend to me, particularly recently,” she said.

“She is the nicest person in the world. She knows what we've gone through and has great advice.”

The pair were spotted out together last month with Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, and The Saturdays star Rochelle Humes.

“It was a lot of fun and one of those nights where all the girls just wanted to let their hair down,” Perrie said.

“Nicola was saying we should all have a girlie night at Cheryl's, have something a bit more low-key.”

Cheryl is likely to have had plenty of experiences to share with Perrie, having divorced ex-husband Ashley Cole in 2010.

She is also reported to have filed from divorce from second husbandJean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini last month, after just 19 months of marriage.

She recently served as a bridesmaid at Kimberley’s Barbados wedding to Justin Scott, while it is rumoured that she is working on new music with Craig David, who she met after he appeared on ‘The X Factor’ last year.
