Large swathes of Wales, England and Scotland are on alert for snow and ice over the coming days as a cold front sweeps in from the Atlantic.
The Met Office has issued yellow warnings of snow and ice for Thursday, Friday and Saturday as a band of wet weather moves eastwards followed by freezing temperatures under clearer skies.
Leeds saw the coldest night as the mercury fell to minus 1C (30.2F) in the early hours of Thursday, while temperatures struggled to reach 4C (39.2) across most of the UK.
