Champion Fell Runner Charged With Attempted Murder After Stadium Stabbing

A champion fell runner has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed at an athletics stadium.

West Midlands Police said Lauren Jeska, 41, a former English Fell Running Champion, will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Jeska, from Machynlleth, Powys, also faces two further charges of wounding and possession of a bladed article.

Police were called to the Alexander Park Stadium in Perry Barr just before 10.30am on Tuesday after reports a man had been stabbed.

Police said the 51-year-old victim "remains in a stable condition in hospital".
