Queen Leads Nation In Remembrance Day Commemorations

Britain is set to fall silent in commemoration of the nation's war dead led by the Queen at a Remembrance Day service.

Members of the royal family will join her on Whitehall in central London where they will lay wreaths at the Cenotaph with the Prime Minister, leaders of the main political parties and Commonwealth dignitaries.

A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am and the Prince of Wales will later take the salute at a march past of veteran and civilian organisations on Horse Guards Parade.

Theresa May said this year's occasion should also be a time for honouring the bravery of British forces fighting Islamic State, assisting UN peacekeeping efforts in Africa or fighting piracy.
