Here's why they deserve a shoutout:
1. Nandi Madida:
Mrs Madida oozes being African and stands firm and unapologetic about her African roots. She is synonymous with all things proudly African and we love how she defines her queenship and manages to remain truly inspirational.
2. Sho Madjozi:
When Sesi Madjozi (real name Maya Wegerif) burst on to the scene, there was no doubt about how proud she is of her Tsonga roots. We are inspired by how she has given Xibelani a youthful feel and how she continues to represent.

3. Candy Tsamandebele:
As part of her campaign for South African Music Awards (SAMAs) earlier this year, Candy Mosekedi Mokwena took to the streets to remind black people of their roots.
She previously told HuffPost SA that her album, which was nominated for Best Traditional Album, was aimed at taking people back to their roots which they often forget.
"I am a proud Molobedu woman and that identity comes across through my music. I love it when young black children speak the English language fluently, but at the same time, we need to teach them to speak and understand their home languages and the origins of those languages," Mokwena said.
4. Thandiswa Mazwai:
Because she is just a goddess and we love her for all she's done and how she keeps making us so proud.
5. Nomzamo Mbatha:
Mbatha's fashion has always been all about that Africanness. We also love how she took the Zulu Loveletter with her to the red carpet of the BET Awards. She also donned an African print number to the BET Black Girls Rock celebration in New York.
6. Papa Penny:
Real name, Eric Nkovani, needs no introduction. He makes the things that make the pots to be done when putting Xigaza on the map and we just love how proud he is of his heritage.
7. Esther Mahlangu:
Because, Esther Mahlangu.
