Unfortunately, many of us are all too familiar with the not-so-pleasant side effects of a drinks-heavy night out. Headaches, nausea, irritability, upset tummies and a total lack of energy are just some of the common symptoms that accompany a hangover - and the main reasons we can't face getting out of bed when we have one.
While you can't take back the drink that pushed you over the edge, you can eat your way to a happier hangover. "Alcohol is a burden for the liver so after a heavy night out a big fry up is one of the worst choices you can make to combat a hangover," explains Zoe Copsey, Head of Nutrition at Lomax Bespoke Fitness, Nutrition and Wellbeing. "Instead, the key is to be kind to your liver by supporting its detoxification processes as well as re-hydrating your body."
