I cannot believe that it is 2016, I mean honestly where has the time gone? One thing I am working on this year including my blogging & life goals is being more positive, sometimes I look at the negative more than I should do. I know when life gets tough looking at the negative can help to be prepared if things go wrong, but I would really like to embrace the world and by being more positive it can give me a totally different look at life!
I love am the type of person who tries their best to have a positive attitude, and there is definitely nothing I adore more than sharing the love and making others smile. One thing I do know is when you see the positive side off things, life seems a little better, a little easier, and you are able to make the most of the beautiful life that you have.
I decided that I would write down a few things down that I will be doing to focus on being more positive but to also help you to do the same if that is one of your 2016 goals.
1. Find the good in every situation
I know it's not that easy, trust me, you might have made a mistake, or you might have done wrong, stumbled at a certain point in your life, but remember that we all make mistakes, we all have things to learn and know that you're not alone. I know that I've made many mistakes in my life, but becoming accountable helps me to realise what I did wrong and how to make sure it never happens again. Try to take at least one positive from each situation, by taking a step back and asking these questions it will help you to gain some clarity.
2. Surround yourself with positivity
It's easier said than done, however, if there are negative people in your life who are bringing you down, who kill your vibe, then I would suggest putting yourself first, turn round and say to yourself, I'm worth more than this, I deserve positivity in my life, who am I letting someone dictate my happiness? Cut those people out of your life, allow yourself the opportunity to be happy!
3. Don't let fear hold you back
We all have those moments where we are scared to do something for fear of rejection or it not working out, but that is part of the problem, until you give yourself a chance, you can do this, if you want to do something, do it! You never know, something incredible could come from it, and if you don't try , then you don't know what could have been! Be honest with yourself, what is the worst thing that could happen from this situation, honestly? But what could you gain from it? Does the positives outweigh the negatives?
4. Make others smile
I love making other people smile, it is one of my favourite things to do, so when you make other people smile? Little comments if they're having a bad day, maybe they need someone to listen to them because they need to vent, boost their mood, give them cuddles, spend time together, dance around like it's going out of fashion, anything that will make them smile! Spread the love and the positivity!
5. Keep life in perspective
When you're having a rough time, sometimes we feel like certain things are bigger than they actually are, when in reality they're quite small, so there are ways in which you can deal with this.
Take a step back, have a moment to breath, if you're trying to keep life in perspective being stressed can just make things worse.
Look at what has caused the situation, talk to someone who is impartial to what has been happening, I know that is probably easier said than done, however, they can offer you a different perspective on what has been going on. Having someone who has a clear opinion can really help you to see things properly!
6. Exercise can really help
As someone who adores working out, I have found that exercise can be a brilliant stress relief, it gives you some healthy you time, but not only that, it might sound really boring, but it has a fantastic impact upon your thoughts process!I have noticed that since working out, my depression has got so much better, I'm almost off all of the tablets, but also I have a more positive outlook on life!
7. A bad day doesn't mean you have a bad life
I know that when you're having the worst time, it's easy to think when you have a bad day it makes you think of all of the things that have gone wrong, it makes you think it's been a bad life (I've done this many times) but it's not true! Accept the bad day, it's going to happen, so instead do some of your favourite things, put your favourite movies on, do things you love, surround yourself with the people you care about!
8. Stop for a minute and smile
I know when I am having the worst day, my husband will come in the door and I smile because he is here, and when my lips curve to create my smile, for a moment, everything is good with the world!
9. Remind yourself of all the positives that have happened in the last few months
Having a rubbish day can make you forget all of the good things that have happened to you recently, so sit down, look in your diary, look at photos remind yourself of the wonderful things that you've done and achieved!
10. See your friends
Friends are some of the best people in your life, they know you better than anyone else and will support you no matter what, so seeing them, having a heart to heart can make everything in life better!
I am hoping to put this all into practice for 2016, and I will of course keep you all up to date!
