There are a few jobs that require employees to look as put together as flight attendants. From the strict dress codes to the hairstyles and flawless make up, cabin crew know a thing or two about dressing the part.
So, when Maria Pedersen and Laura Kellam, two members from Emirates Airlines staff, shared their beauty tips with Huffington Post Style, we sat up and took notice.
Here's Maria and Laura's advice on looking fresh and polished, even when you don't always feel like it...
1. Stay hydrated
Anyone who has been on a long-haul flight will know how difficult it is to look perky. Whether you're travelling or not, the secret to getting that healthy glow is always the same. "Hydrating is key," says Maria. "I buy a liter of water and force myself to drink it. I use wet towels a lot and a spray that hydrates."
2. Invest in oils
Oils make skin greasy, don't they? The truth is, with the right product, nothing will moisturise your skin more deeply. "Before a flight I put pure argan oil all over my face which is nice because it's not super greasy but also doesn't dry out my skin," Maria added. Her top tip? Dab it on the skin before applying foundation.
3. Want to look polished? Don't rush
"I usually give myself about an hour and fifteen minutes," Laura said when asked how long she allows to get ready before work. "I could do it in less time, but I don't like to be rushed. I like to feel fresh and totally ready for work." Unfortunately, this means less time in bed. On the plus side? You won't end up doing your make up on the morning commute.
