It’s pretty hard to get a bunch of journalists to agree on something, but this week mountains were moved when Ruchira Sharma shared a photo of a monkey posing for a picture, tweeting: “This is every journalist headshot.”
And OH MY GOD SHE IS SO RIGHT.
Anyhoo... here are our favourite animals stories, pics and videos of the week. On with the show.
1. Mouse Proud.
This week a tiny rodent was captured cleaning up a pensioner’s shed – the very definition of kind. According to Sky News, 72-year-old Stephen Mckears “thought he was going mad” when objects kept moving about. He started purposely scattering nuts and bolts around his shed, and the next day found them stashed away. A camera he set up with the help of his neighbour soon exposed the secret cleaner...
2. Lizzle Licks.
We’re not sure why this woman has a lizard on her shoulder, but can you imagine being licked with such force?!
3. Dog Points At Chickens. Nobody Knows Why.
Nobody told him it’s rude to point, but we’ll let Captain the dog off the hook because, well, he’s cute. And TBH – chickens do look a little strange... like feathery dinosaurs.
4. A Koala Bear Got Into A Car.
It could mark the start of a brilliant joke. But actually, this happened IRL.
It’s not clear whether Blinky Bill wanted to hitch a ride or simply make use of the air conditioning – but one thing’s for sure: he’s got some balls breaking into that winemaker’s car.
5. This Dog Thread Came Into Existence.
You know when something so joyful happens that you just want to cry? Someone on Twitter decided to start a thread of adorable dog pics and... we just can’t even.
