Sisters are meant to be the ones who support you through thick and thin, right? Not always, according to one woman, who shared how she was uninvited from a family event as a result of her size.
The anonymous woman wrote on Mumsnet that her sister, who is a personal trainer, had set up a group chat with herself, their other siblings, their parents and wider family – to organise a date for a BBQ.
Everyone had suggested potential dates, and there were several that everyone could attend. But instead of picking one of those dates, the sister selected a date that the woman could not make.
“I pointed out there were a lot of dates we could all do... she said she wasn’t sure I’d feel comfortable at the event as she was also inviting a lot of her clients,” the Mumsnet poster wrote. “Cut a long story short, she said everyone going was really slim... and proceeded to suggest it looked bad on her as a personal trainer if she had a ‘fat’ sister.”

The woman said she hung up the phone on her sister, because she was so angry. “I have never done that before,” she wrote, before asking users on the site whether she was being unreasonable.
Commenters were supportive of the woman’s stance – and said it her sister was being badly behaved. “I can’t actually articulate a response at this point as I am shocked,” one wrote.
Another said: “She needs to apologise. Vile attitude. Hopefully one of your family will deal with her nastiness.”
“I would tell her she is hurtful, cruel and rude – and it’s nice to know her image means more to her than her relationship with her sister. What a bitch,” said another.
One person commenting said none of the family should go to the event – to teach her sister a lesson: “They should back you,” the person wrote. “This is just unacceptable.”
