Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are to reunite on a new TV show, marking the first time they will have worked together since their doomed ‘Daybreak’ stint.
The pair were axed from the ITV breakfast show in 2011 after the GMTV replacement bombed in the ratings, and have not appeared together on television since.
However, they will front a new series about friendship for BBC Northern Ireland, which will also be screened in the UK if it’s successful.
A BBC spokesperson told The Sun: “We’re pleased to confirm that Adrian and Christine have agreed to join forces again for a new BBC Northern Ireland production.
Adrian and Christine first worked together on ‘The One Show’ in 2007, but were poached by ITV in 2010 to front their new breakfast show in multi-million pound deals.
‘Daybreak’ was met with widespread criticism and suffered from dismal ratings, and despite a number of revamps, Adrian and Christine were dropped and replaced with Aled Jones and Lorraine Kelly.
Adrian later claimed that his stint on the show was “an omnishambles, a stain on my professional soul” in an interview with The Saturday Times magazine in 2014.
He went to on front ITV’s football coverage, until he was dropped in January 2015 and replaced with Mark Pougatch.
Christine later became the co-host of ‘Dancing On Ice’ alongside Phillip Schofield, and has also acted as a stand-in host on ‘This Morning’.
She tied the knot with footballer Frank Lampard in December last year.
