Former Number 10 communications chief Alastair Campbell is joining respected PR firm Portland to work for his old deputy, CEO Tim Allan.
PR Week reports Campbell has been recruited to the firm, which serves clients including Google, McDonalds, Vodafone and Jaguar as a consultant.
Tim Allan told the paper that his former boss is "unique": "He has a huge strategic brain and an extraordinary ability to make things happen. He brings our clients truly world class strategic advice and is an invaluable coach and mentor to our team."
Campbell, who said he had considered joining the firm for "many years", worked for Tony Blair between 1994-2003.
Managing partner of Portland Steve Morris and former Downing Street staffer tweeted on Wednesday: "It's 10 years, almost to the day, since Alastair Campbell hired me into No 10. Now we're hiring him back."
Kevin McKeever, head of Portland Local also tweeted his congratulations.
