Teen Aldi Worker Walked Hand-In-Hand With Pensioner And Carried His Shopping All The Way Home

A teenager working at Aldi who walked a 95-year-old pensioner back home with his shopping has been "blown away" by the public's reaction to his kind deed.

Christian Trousedale, who works part-time at the store's Horwich branch, near Bolton, helped the man home, saying it was just something he would normally do.

"The reaction has been completely crazy, my facebook is just overflowing with messages, I can't even start to read them all," the 18-year-old told Bolton News.

"I went back into Aldi this afternoon and a lady came up and hugged me and said she loved what I had done.

"It is very strange because this is just something I would normally do, my parents have raised me to treat other people like you want to be treated yourself."

The student's kindness was caught on camera by Samantha-Jayne Brady, who was working in a fish and chip shop across the road from Aldi. She took a picture of the pair and posted it on Facebook, where it has been liked by more than 270,000 people and shared nearly 75,000 times.

Samantha has since pledged to establish a free-to-use shopping service for the elderly in Horwich, where she will volunteer to run errands for those in need.

Christian's mother, Lynda, added: "Thank you everyone for your kind and beautiful words, they have touched me and my husband very much.

"It's been rewarding and emotional reading people's lovely comments. We as a family are very close and me and my husband are extremely proud of our sons and how they have turned out to be."
