Breastfeeding in public is a right every mother has, yet we still hear cases of people failing to support these women – either through disapproving looks or asking them to cover up, for which there are usually, quite rightly, repercussions.
Only recently, Dutch airline KLM came under fire for requiring a breastfeeding mother to cover up to “keep peace on board”.
Something that should be pointed out, though, is that Alex Jones is pretty famous. It’s likely people would gawp at her whatever she was doing – because she’s off the telly and riding a bus. You never see famous people on buses. But either way, she shouldn’t be getting those “weird looks” while trying to feed her son.
For any women apprehensive about breastfeeding in public, there are tips from Unicef, the NHS and the Breastfeeding Network.
