Amanda Holden has spoken out about her reputation as a “bit of a minx”, insisting that the way she was portrayed in the press in the past does not represent what she’s like in real life.
In the early 2000s, Amanda made the headlines when it emerged she’d had an affair with actor Neil Morrissey, behind her then-husband Les Dennis’s back.
She tells The Mirror: “Because of everything in my personal life - being married and having an affair - I was seen as a bit of a minx or a girl who would steal your husband, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Amanda adds that she’s happy her 10 years judging ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has allowed the British public to see a different side to her.
During the audition process for last year’s ‘BGT’, Amanda said that she thought the show’s 10th series would be her last on the panel, but later back-tracked ahead of this year’s debut, insisting she wasn’t going anywhere as long as there was a place for her on the hit ITV show.
So far, this year’s ‘BGT’ has been the most-watched show of 2016, trouncing ‘Sherlock’, which previously held the title.
