American Football Player Caught Dropping The F-Bomb Via Referee's Microphone (Video)

WATCH: Referee's Microphone Picks Up American Football Player Swearing
|

For most Brits, watching American football is about as complicated as solving four Rubik's cubes whilst riding a unicycle... on fire.

But one thing everyone knows is that you don't swear on the pitch. You don't swear generally, in fact, for fear of the referee punishing you a yellow card (or whatever the American football equivalent happens to be).

Pity poor Harvey Dahl then, a guard for the St. Louis Rams who recently dropped the f-bomb in the middle of a game against Cincinnati Bengals recently.

If the ref was willing to overlook it, they could just carry on with the game, right?

Well, the ref couldn't let this one slide... because the sweary-word in question had been picked up by his microphone, meaning the whole ***king thing had been blasted out around the stadium.

Ah. Awkward. Cue one humiliating penalty for his team and a swift subbing off the pitch.

The sad thing about it is that everyone swears on the football pitch - though of course you're not actually meant to - but it was just sheer bad luck that Harvey was too close to the ref on this occassion.

That said, if he'd just kept his trap shut... Ah, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
