'American Horror Story: Apocalypse': Angela Bassett Says She's 'In Her Feelings' Not To Be Asked Back For Season 8

She's the most obvious absentee on the season eight cast list.

Former ‘American Horror Story’ star Angela Bassett has admitted she’s “a little bit in her feelings” about her absence from the current series.

The current run of ‘AHS’, subtitled ‘Apocalypse’, has been billed as a cross-over between series one and three, ‘Murder House’ and ‘Coven’, the latter of which featured Angela as voodoo queen Marie Laveau.

However, while ‘Coven’ stars like Lily Rabe, Gabourey Sidibe, Taissa Farmiga and even Stevie Nicks have all been confirmed to be returning, Angela’s name was noticeably absent from the cast list.

While this was initially assumed to be due to her involvement in another Ryan Murphy show, ‘9-1-1’, she has now claimed she was a little put out not to be asked.

“I have [‘Apocalypse’] on my DVR,” she told The Hollywood Reporter, “But I haven’t seen any of it just yet.

I’m even a little bit in my feelings that Marie didn’t come back.”

In Angela’s final episode of ‘American Horror Story: Coven’, Marie Laveau was taken to hell by Papa Legba, where she was forced to spend her days torturing her nemesis, Delphine LaLaurie.

Although this might seem like a plausible reason for her not coming back for ‘Apocalypse’, Misty Day was also condemned to hell in her last appearance, while Madison Montgomery and Myrtle Snow were also both killed off, though they’ve both returned for the most recent series.

‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’ is currently airing in the UK on Thursday nights at 10pm on Fox, after which new episodes are available to stream on NOW TV.
