A Global feast is taking place every night of the Olympics with 80 guests seated around sculpted map of the world in the courtyard of the stunning Old Town Hall.

Each night will see a different world cuisine grace the hand-constructed table, as diners sip cocktails and soak up the bespoke entertainment tailored to the cuisine. Whilst the games will see each country battling out to win as many medals as possible, this event will win gold every night because It celebrates the rich culinary diversity we have in this country and dedicates a night in the spotlight to 20 of them. Yes it's another pop-up restaurant, but this one is about real food prepared by real people who want to share the truth about their gastronomical heritage.

Press night took place on Tuesday this week & Stylist Magazine rated it as one of the best ways to celebrate The Olympics.

The opening ceremony night sees the best of British cuisine crossing all 4 terrains in one evening moving through to the Indian sub-continent and Central America before finishing in Rio on 13th August, where the torch will be handed over. So of like me you missed out on the seated events but plan on soaking up the atmosphere around the grounds, why not end your day with alfresco summer dining without queues or washing up?

A modern pentathalon with a twist

Pistol shooting - shadow guns are the only weapons you'll see as the sun lowers over the courtyard during welcome cocktails

Fencing - you may need to get tactical when choosing your seat at the grand table, after all it's not every day you get to dine at 5000m

200 m freestyle swimming - the kitchen is the chef's swimming pool where their canapes will entertain your palate

Show jumping - over the hedge to the starters, around the track for mains with accompaniments and across the finish line to dessert

3 km cross-country run - after this feast you'll feel like you've just completed a cross-country run but can float down to the bar for some R&R.
