Last week, we shared GQ's latest cover featuring a naked, but bejewelled, Lana Del Rey. Today, the magazine has released an inside shot from the new edition, and as predicted, she's forgotten to wear any clothes.
However, although this might sound like we're trying to avoid the obvious, we couldn't help but notice Lana's on-trend and on-point nails. The square-shaped talons from seasons past have been replaced with this long, slightly sharp style, as modelled by Lana here.
Rihanna and Lady Gaga are also fans of the new nail and they are all the rage over at New York Fashion Week. The lovely people at Racked.com went backstage at Kate Spade's S/S 2013 show and reported the following from nail artist Deborah Lippmann: "We're loving these longer nails because the collection can be quite sweet and quite preppy, so we wanted something a bit edgier and grittier. Even though some of the nails are quite pretty, with the ginghams for example, by having them longer and more pointed it just gave a little bit of edge to them, which I think is a nice counterbalance to the sweetness of the clothes".
We're all for edgier nails. No biting next season.
