Antonio Banderas has given fans a reassuring health update, after revealing he’d been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Two weeks ago, Antonio announced that he was spending his 60th birthday in quarantine, after testing positive for Covid-19.
At the time, he told his Instagram followers he was feeling “relatively well, just a bit more tired than usual”, and was confident that he would recover from the illness “as soon as possible”.
Posting on Twitter, the Spanish actor has now confirmed that he is fighting fit, after recovering from the illness.
“After 21 days of disciplinary confinement I can say now that today I overcame the Covid-19 infection,” he wrote.
“I am cured. My thoughts go to those who weren’t as fortunate as me, and to those who suffered more than I did.”
He added: “I also wish strength to the ones who are in the middle of the fight.”
Throughout the coronavirus crisis, many high-profile stars have spoken out after testing positive for Covid-19, with many who were diagnosed early in the pandemic still experiencing certain after-effects.
Dynasty star Emma Samms spoke last week about how she is still struggling with feelings of fatigue almost six months after first contracting coronavirus.
Meanwhile, US star Alyssa Milano and TV personality Linda Lusardi have both spoken recently about how they’re continuing to experience hair loss, with the former sharing a candid post on Instagram to demonstrate her point.
Linda has also shared how being diagnosed with coronavirus affected both her own and her family members’ mental health, echoing sentiments previously shared by Idris Elba, who tested positive for Covid-19 in March.
