iPhone 6 Latest: Heart-Rate Monitor And Blood Pressure Sensors To Be Built Into Headphones

Huge iPhone 6 Rumour Leaks On 'Secret' App?

There's always a lot of rumour and speculation about the next iPhone - and this time around it seems like health is going to be a big focus.

But Apple might be about to spring a surprise - because the real innovation might not be in the phone at all, but in the headphones.

Evidence is starting to emerge that the heart-rate and blood pressure sensors thought to be a part of Apple's next smartphone might instead be built into its new 'Earpods'.

The Telegraph reports via the unverifiable-by-design rumours app Secret that the new EarPods will be very high tech indeed:

The rumour suggests that the EarPods will also contain Apple's new iBeacontech, so they never get lost.

The iPhone "stores the data in a similar way to thumbprint point data, fully encrypted and nothing identifiable. But nice to send to your doctor to keep track of at which point your blood pressure started rising for example," the message said.

There is obviously no way to confirm this rumour at this point, but it matches up with various other tidbits we've heard in the months leading up to the release.

It's possible that the news could be confirmed as soon as June at Apple's WWDC, but more likely we'll have to wait until the iPhone 6 unveiling in September.
