Asmir Begovic became the fifth goalkeeper to score in the Premier League era with first minute strike in Stoke's draw with Southampton.

Following in the footsteps of Peter Schmeichel, Brad Friedel, Paul Robinson and Tim Howard, Begovic lobbed Artur Boruc at the Britannia Stadium. However, Jay Rodriguez's goal denied the Bosnia and Herzegovina custodian the status of matchwinner.

Manchester City slaughtered Norwich 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium, courtesy of seven different scorers.

David Silva, Matija Nastasić, Alvaro Negredo, Yaya Touré, Sergio Agüero, Edin Džeko and a Bradley Johnson own goal made it 11 goals conceded in a week for Norwich, after losing 4-0 at Manchester United in the Capital One Cup.

An opening 22-minute masterclass from United at Fulham made it successive League wins for the first time under David Moyes. Antonio Valencia, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney's goals proved too much for the beleaguered Cottagers, who pulled one back courtesy of a Rooney own goal in the 1-3 loss.

Carlos Cuéllar's first-half own goal was enough as Hull beat Sunderland 1-0 to move up to 10th. Lee Cattermole was sent off for the sixth time with the Black Cats, who remain above Crystal Palace after they lost 2-0 at West Brom thanks to Saido Berahino and Gareth McAuley's goals.

It was goalless at Upton Park between West Ham and Aston Villa, while in the lunchtime kick-off Newcastle beat a resurgent Chelsea 2-0.

Frenchmen Yoan Gouffran and Loïc Rémy struck in the second-half for Newcastle's first win in nearly a month.
