A rambling message posted on Facebook may be the defiant words of Bashar al-Assad's 11-year-old son, Hafez.
Although it is uncertain whether or not the account actually belongs to the child, the ranting post appears to be "liked" by the children and grandchildren of the top figures of the regime.
Fans of the convoluted message appear to include the son and daughter of Assef Shawkat, the former deputy minister of defense, Sally and Ali Khierbek – members of the powerful Alawite Khierbek family and Deputy Vice President for Security Mohammad Nasif Khierbek.
The post appears to have been written by Assad's 11-year-old son
In a bold statement that blasts the US, the young boy encourages America to strike.
"12 hours we waited [for the military strike]…. 48 hours they said, we're waiting," it starts.
"I just want them to attack sooo much, because I want them to make this huge mistake of beginning something that they don't know the end of it," the chilling post, apparently by the child, reads.
"No one has soldiers like the ones we do in Syria," the post states. "America doesn't have soldiers, what it has is some cowards with new technology who claim themselves liberators."

"We were born to fight and resist, we will fight them everywhere until they get out if they came in in the first place, no matter how much hard they try to get us out of our holy land they will never succeed, it's where we come from it's where our roots and predecessors come from."
The post ends with a promise that the army will not stop if America invades: "They don't know our land like we do, no one does, victory is ours in the end no matter how much time it takes."
The child's stark statement comes as David Cameron was today given a legal green light to launch military action against Syria - even without the United Nations' approval.
