A man with Asperger's Syndrome lied about his health and donated sperm to a clinic, fathering at least 22 children.
Several women have gone on to give birth to babies who are reportedly showing the signs of Asperger's Syndrome.
The man, who is 30 and from Rotterdam, Netherlands, is still an active donor, but not at an official clinic.
The women who had his children only found out about his identity in the past month. They had used his sperm after contacting him online rather than using official sperm banks which charge up to £1,000 and have long waiting lists.
The Dutch newspaper AD said: 'There is a perceived added value in that the women get to meet the potential donor, but the risks are also considerably higher. Some of the unofficial donors are reportedly only after sex or out to have as many donor children as possible.'
The paper claimed the man was a 'pathological liar' who had also been treated for depression. Women have come forward to say that they had intercourse with him, or used his sperm for artificial insemination after meeting him on donor websites.
Two sites the man was active on have now banned him, but there are concerns he will simply change his identity and advertise elsewhere.
